Global cryptocurrency exchange Binance has joined forces with AltSchool Africa, a leading tech talent acquisition platform, to launch a scholarship initiative aimed at empowering 500 young Africans with digital skills. This initiative will run from January 2025 to December 31, 2025.
According to a statement seen on Technext, the collaboration seeks to address Africa’s digital skills gap by providing access to specialized education in fields such as software engineering, cybersecurity, sales, and content creation. The program will also equip recipients with in-demand skills to navigate today’s rapidly evolving job market.
Scholarship Details
The Binance scholarship scheme will fully cover tuition fees, enabling recipients to participate in AltSchool Africa’s structured programs. These programs are designed to foster digital proficiency and position African youth for success in a global digital economy.
Additionally, recipients will gain access to:
- Mentorship from industry experts.
- Career support to secure competitive roles.
- Practical training to build strong foundations in their chosen fields.

The International Finance Corporation (IFC) projects that by 2030, 230 million jobs in Sub-Saharan Africa will require digital skills. Alarmingly, only 2% of the African workforce currently possesses these skills.
By offering these scholarships, Binance and AltSchool Africa aim to bridge this gap and equip African youth with expertise for the future digital economy.
