The 7S Tech Bootcamp

Following the ongoing social media rumblings from some high school teachers who participated in the 5-days technology bootcamp, participating students are seen to have debunked these teachers’ ruse, reassuring that the Osun State Government fed them well, contrary to the statements peddled by some of those teachers on social media.

The following report was submitted to Tech Parrot by Olubunmi Badiora, the Director of Information, Ministry of Science, Innovation, Technology, and Digital Economy.


“Students selected across senior secondary schools in Osun state, to participate in the just concluded bootcamp organised by the ministry of Innovation, Science Technology and Digital Economy has shown gratitude to Osun State government under the leadership of Governor Ademola Adeleke for empowering them intellectually and for feeding them good and balance meals during their stay at the camp.

“The students gave the accolades at the closing ceremony held to wrap up the science and technology bootcamp training held alongside teachers workshop, at NYSC Orientation camp Ede Osun State.

“The students who were selected from various schools in the local government of osun state, said “we came here to learn and the ministry, through the resource persons taught us solar inverter installation web programming, graphic designs artificial intelligence, CCTV telecoms and wireless installations, basic robotic skills, entrepreneur soft skills among others.”

 

“We really thank the governor for giving us this opportunity, and for feeding us delicious foods ranging from jollof rice and chicken, akara, amala, ewedu and beef, as well as moimoi with option of drinking Garri with it, among others, but we were not forced to drink the Garri as claimed by some mischievous people.”

“We would like to say that we are all proud to represent our various schools and we really appreciate the government for the training, and we also commend the ministry of Innovation Science and Technology for bringing up this training, which has impacted our lives and our future.”

“We promise to be good ambassadors of this bootcamp investment of Mr Governor, and knowing that this is the first time in history that the government will invest in the science and technology educational knowledge of students particularly in large numbers, and we look forward to seeing more of this laudable programs.”

“Kudos to the government and the ministry of innovation science technology and digital economy, we enjoyed ourselves – the students chorused.”
