SpaceX is working on upgrades that will make Starlink internet much faster, with speeds of up to 2 gigabits per second. This means that people will be able to download things really quickly, way faster than now.
SpaceX President Gwynne Shotwell said these upgrades will make Starlink even better. Right now, if people want faster speeds, they need to buy more Starlink dishes. Each dish can get speeds of 100 to 200 Mbps, but soon, a single dish will be able to handle gigabit speeds.
SpaceX is also working on new satellites that will send stronger signals to help users get these fast speeds. They want to make Starlink faster without people needing to buy extra dishes.
The company hopes to have 2 gigabit speeds for Starlink users soon, and they’re already getting close to having 5 million users around the world.
SpaceX is also testing Starship, a big spaceship that will carry Starlink satellites into space. These new satellites will help make Starlink internet even faster.
So, if you’re waiting for super-fast Starlink internet, it might be here sooner than you think!
